Christophe Vaudoisey

Burgundy

While the reds of the Côte de Nuits get all the attention, Christophe Vaudoisey who farms 12 hectares in Volnay, Pommard and Meursault in an unpretentious way, has been quietly making a selection of wines that typify the synthesis of grace and power that is Volnay. This is vrai Bourgogne; proper vineyards (Clos des Chenes, Cailleret, Mitans) made carefully in a purpose-built facility just below the village. The price for such quality is frankly laughable and it’s no surprise how incredibly popular these wines have become, regularly selling out on release.
